I did a post on the origins of Italian Food. In that post I included two Authentic Italian Family Recipes. The Nicoletti recipe for pizza dolce and the Sorrentino recipe for tomato sauce from Naples. That post turned out to be such a big hit that I decided to dedicate a page for recipes. These are handed down recipes, with one or two exceptions. Besides being a genealogy blogger, I am also a trained chef from the NY Restaurant School. I will include some of my Family Recipes, as well.
To find a recipe, hover over the recipe tab, or you can click on the link below. I’ll be adding more, and I hope to get others to provide their “Authentic Italian Family Recipes” as well. Please hover over the little bell to subscribe for updates. If you would like to have me post your “Authentic Italian Family Recipe” post a JPEG file on our Facebook Page and I will also post here.

So when I mentioned Modena, she asked, “What’s there?” “Ferrari.” “I’m in!” Truly a great museum, and a really good cafe, better than the one we stopped at on the way there, although a bit more expensive. At least 20 cars are on display, with a short video, gift shop $$$$ and a simulator for 25 Euros. You can also tour

The Journey Home 2025 — Bologna

The Bologna Ghetto was established in 1556 when the Jewish community in Bologna was confined to a small, enclosed area near Via dell’Inferno. It was created by papal decree under Pope Paul IV, a decision that reflected the broader
